WKMG was just named Best Overall Station for a large market by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. We regularly win Edward R. Murrow, Emmy and AP awards. We have twice been named winner of the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America award. Our photojournalists have the opportunity to contribute to the #1 digital platform in Central Florida. Our newsroom culture is one of the best in the business! Orlando news thrives on breaking news and often our breaking local story ends up as a national news headline. Come live, learn and work where news breaks! RESPONSIBILITIES: Photograph news stories for presentation on-air. Edit, produce video for daily newscast. Coordinate with producers on rundowns and scripts, and adhere to strict deadlines. Ensure video feeds are scheduled and logged. Train for and be available to edit newscasts based on scheduling needs Work closely with Producers, Photographers, and Assignment Desk Personnel. Possess and maintain a valid drivers license with a driving record acceptable to the company. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Operate live microwave and streaming equipment under strict deadlines. Reports to Chief Photographer QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Two years of full-time photography and editing experience in daily TV news preferred. Ability to operate TV news gathering equipment including LiveU and ENG. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines and changing priorities. A valid passport is desirable but not required. Discretion, maturity and composure, especially under pressure. A valid drivers license and safe driving record. Must be able to fly in a helicopter or airplane. Must be able to travel on short notice.
